Forest City Forging
Forest City Forging is a forging club which meets most Wednesdays from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Rockford MakerSpace.
Compact propane forges will be provided for members to use. Members can work solo on their own forging projects, or collaborate and network with others interested in the craft, and get advice from the experienced and talented club organizer, Dennis Neubauer.
We make knives out of car springs, garage door springs, leaf springs, allen wrenches, open-end wrenches, drill bits and more. We can also make everything from forging tongs to trinkets like snakes and leaves.
Although geared toward beginners, this club is for persons who have previously been trained in the art of forging. This is NOT a training class. We do offer training in our “Forging a Knife” or “Forging: Artistic Basics” classes, which are usually offered several times each year. Visit our Events Registration System to check the schedule and register for classes.
